Bringing to you another genuine experience from the volts of-Hostel Life. Hope you all like it.
It was yet another winter night-everything pitch black. The clock struck "10:00 PM" and we ( The Hostel Prefects) along with our warden got busy in getting everyone else to bed. Everything was like a normal night when suddenly agonizing cries shattered the winter night. The cry was immediately suppressed by the unison growl of mob-sounds of beating stick. we all were more curious than words can express.
The warden immediately got busy in putting everyone back to bed as everyone was already by the window , trying to see what happened. Few sounds of caning and everyone was dead silent-back in their beds. We of-course, were rushing down the stairs, running to the background- the epicenter of all chaos. Being senior most and hostel heads itself, we were safely out from the warden's "ruling domain".
As we approached the ground we saw nothing but dust- the night was really dark !Few Yards closer and we saw a mob of guys ( from the orphanage of our hostel ) chasing / beating something. The sight was really terrifying. we called a guy and inquired !
He said a fox had come in from the forest ! I felt bad for the poor animal but when he said the fox came with troops, i was scared to silence.
The next morning we saw the principal of Douglass( The hostel which shares our eastern walls) talking seriously with our principal in her garden.Curiosity again forced us to inquire. when we did we fell on the floor rolling with laughter !!
The beast from last night was not a fox but Douglass principal's pet dog and, the troop he came in with- our principals three pet dogs. All three of them managed to escape but the poor dog from Douglass couldn't. If only had anyone used a torch !
P.S - The dog was fully fit in 2-3 days but, he just doesn't enter our premises till this day !!
And as always,thanks for reading
