This will be my last article for sometime. So, on my temporary ending note , I want to write something which shall discuss the very foundation of faith and knowledge.
To begin with, lets make things a bit clear.
what is knowledge? - Knowledge is of course the data that we gather from the world around us through our experiences which helps us to deal with the similar situations in future ! easy right?
And what is faith?- faith is to believe in something or someone in a level greater than our earthly instincts. The above definitions sound silly, easy and meaningless to our context right ? well no !
Lets begin. It is time to think . Knowledge and Faith are flip sides of same coin-right?
You can't have faith and gain knowledge together after all. Think like this- If you have faith in the fact that earth goes round the sun then that's it ! You have to believe it without any further questions or doubt. And, if you don't question, you will never know that it is all because of ' Gravity'. you see, knowledge and faith can't reside together.
But hold on ! Think like this : The two opposite sides of any coin no matter how different have one thing in common : They both is what makes a coin- "A Coin"
Sounds silly but think. If I ask you to buy me an ice cream and give you some coins but show you the head side of it and say you can't see the tail side , you will punch me on face right?
Now you see what I meant ?- Knowledge and Faith are both incomplete and useless alone. They can't stay together as they don't have to. Their true difference is what makes the thing called wisdom or rather- the coin from our above example.
In the Jewish Bible It is written that in the moment of creation, the genesis -
God said," Let there be light" and everything we know, was formed from a huge blinding light .
In Hinduism, in the Rig veda , it's written that everything we know was formed from a single point.
What's interesting is that the Big Bang we know now, according to the standard model of universe was also originated from a single point- the singularity. Just like said in the veda, and right after it was only a blinding expanding sphere of light. no sound , no bang, just light. like bible said ," let there be light".
From egyptian to mayans to hindus to christians , all described the moment of creation according to the standard model we know today.
Back then, there was definitely no Science so no knowledge. and faith?- definitely not. On whom will they have faith? to us they are god but to them, they themselves were god. So what enabled our ancestors to describe our universe without any knowledge or faith , the way we know it today.
the answer is Wisdom !
Minds like Einstein or Tesla- The frontiers of science , read vedas and bible. Einstein quotes, " It gives inner visions ".
So like I said -it's time to think deep. Our ancestors had laid the roots of wisdom deep in time. It's time we stop splitting them into faith , or knowledge . We must have faith, in our knowledge. If it's 'Gravity' which bends the space and time , we must keep faith that it shall bend light too! and alas it does !.
That's the way to cultivate wisdom.
if you read this far, Thank you - and as always : Think deep !
