This is our first article as Scrivial and no matter who you are, a mathematician or a serial killer-you always have a greater respect for geniuses!
Okay maybe not serial killers but you get me. Some time or the other, you must have for sure, wanted to be a genius.
So who is the absolute genius for you?
Most of you will think of this guy-
But here’s the true question and also the topic for today- does every genius gets such a status? And here's the thing, even Einstein's life was not easy, you must have heard of his sad beginning but bet you don't know how the genius's life ended. Click his picture to learn about his sad ending.
Coming back to the question, sadly the answer is No. Here’s why- do you know William James Sidis? He is a Ukrainian American child prodigy with exceptional mathematical abilities and a claimed mastery of over 40 languages. He entered Harvard at the age of 11 and is said to have the highest IQ in the history of mankind. His history is highly controversial but few of the remaining documents proved that his professors at Harvard were certain that he would grow up to be an exceptional mathematician.

The bottom line is that he was bullied everywhere due to his young age and he eventually ended up leaving mathematics-what a waste!
Dr Satyendra Nath Bose Regarded as “the father of God Particle" by New York times never got a Nobel Prize for his discovery of bosons or his work Bose-Einstein Condensate all though since the advent of Bosons, several Nobel Prizes has been awarded for it.

Alan Turing, most of you may now recognize him after the mega success of the movie The Imitation game, and for those of you who don’t know-basically he is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. He shortened the war against Nazis by almost 2-4 years. For such a war hero, things should have been different-Turing was prosecuted in 1952 for homosexual acts, when such behavior was still criminalized in the UK. He accepted treatment with oestrogen injections (chemical castration) as an alternative to prison. He died in 1952.
Being genius is not at all easy. Being secluded, being bullied, being called “Crazy” till your breakthrough is not a piece of cake but what’s hurting is that there are more unrecognized geniuses than the recognized one, and what's even more hurting is that even the most genius ones don't get the endings they deserve. Next time you think you came across an intelligent person- don’t just start comparing him to Einstein or Leibniz (the true inventor of calculus), because remember, Einstein was a just a clerk when he published his revolutionary paper, he died fully isolated from fame and compassion and also Leibniz who studied Philosophy and who, also died, devoid of any famed recognition.
