According to Marvel, Thor’s hammer is forged inside a star’s core, with a star’s core, also with an Asgardian metal Uru and several enchantments. When the making was done, it destroyed the star itself. What if Thor went up against superman? Can Superman destroy Thor’s hammer- his only source of power- the legendary Mjolnir? Or will Thor beat the hell out of Superman with his hammer which only the worthy can yield?
Superman is not going down without a fight either. Out of all things he does in comics, one thing that makes him incredible is going at the speed of light and turning back time. But we don’t want to turn back time, we want the fight so say he delivers a flying punch toward Thor’s hammer at a speed of 99.9999% the speed of light. Some quick calculations (Henry cavil weight =92 kg and relativistic mechanics), his impact energy will be 5.8548 x 10^ (21) J, that is 3.3 x 10^5 times more than that of Thor’s hammer. However, will he be able to really break his hammer? When Superman’s fist and Thor’s hammer collide, the temperature around them would rise to an insane 2.82698 x 10^ (44) Kelvins, nearly 2 x 10^ (37) times hotter than our suns core. It will create a microscopic black hole of radius 9.64 x 10^ (-23) m and finally, with particle beams having energy of order 6 GeV and their impact energy being 3.654 x 10^ (31) GeV, they will literally knock the atoms out of everything around them. Everything around them will get liquefied at an atomic level turning into quark-gluon plasma, the very thing that formed right after Big Bang. So, after the dust or in this case super-hot plasma settles, Thor will be seen crying and his hammer completely disintegrated but there will be literally nothing around not even atoms, to see him do so. If there is no single atom to witness Thor crying, I can as well assume he never existed after then because the atoms that made him up are also dead due to the big bang related event that took superman's life. What a tragedy.
