3.9 billion years ago, first life sprang in form of Cells resembling prokaryotes. These first organisms are chemoautotrophs: they use carbon dioxide as a carbon source and oxidize inorganic materials to extract energy. Ever since then, the battle for “Survival of the fittest” begun.
But only 0.2 million years ago did our true first ancestor ever came to existence. Within a span of 0.2 million, we surpassed every single life form to have ever existed in last 3.9 billion years. The world is at our feet-right?
The birth of humans must be the moment of euphoria for us but to every single other life forms and to earth herself- it was the prologue for a sad story from planet blue. Let’s take a look at their story.
China, North Korea, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar practice a thing called bile farming. Wonder what it is? They take out bile (fluid) from the gallbladder of bears. The bears are kept in cages where they can barely stand up and their gallbladder is punctured daily to extract their bile just to sell for U.S $24,000 a kilogram. Anything for money right?
Wonder how the bears feel?
-Farmed bile bears are often malnourished and in poor health, living to an average age of five years. Living for 10–12 years under such circumstances results in severe mental stress and muscle atrophy. The Chinese media reported an incident in which a mother bear, having escaped her cage, strangled her own cub and then killed herself by intentionally running into a wall World Animal Protection sent researchers to 11 bile farms. They reported seeing bears moaning, banging their heads against their cages, and chewing their own paws (autophagia).
The countries above mentioned have even declared such a thing legal.

In Thailand, a land where elephants are considered to be sacred, under the cover of dense forest goes on a brutal practice of elephant exploiting. Young wild elephants are captured, then they are chained and starved for days, during this period, they are beaten and abused severely. They are beaten till they give up any hope of living and then they are exploited.

Elephants are very adorable animals they can become very docile with just little love and without any such abuses. Please don't support tourism in Thailand, you are almost guaranteed to see abuse scars behind every elephant's ear you ride there.
The rates of animal cruelty is at its peak. We are the greatest species of all but does that give us the right to torture everyone else? When I said to a friend of mine about this, he said “life goes on. You will forget about it the next day”. It was last month. And I “didn’t forget”. Any single species, if given a chance to change the course of history, the one thing they all will unanimously do is eliminate the very existence of humans. You have the power to make the world a better place. Don’t let the genesis of us humans become -
“The sad story of planet earth”.
