Disclaimer: This article I wrote is completely written from a point of an educated observer, a traveler and note: from an "Indian" not upholding any cast thus in no way intend to promote racism.
Today, in this auspicious day of woman empowerment, a day where the Indian Skyline is never void of lights, a day when joy is in the air, a day when millions of mortal in unison chants, ringing the old dusty bells to its glory- I took a different turn. I thought to go completely pollution free(no crackers) and rather chose to sit back and look upon:what makes diwali-The "DIWALI";
To start with- it's the crackers. No matter how many you own, the real fun is in watching the sky dazzle to life. The rainbow falls fade to the Diwali skyline. Then there are"BOOMs" of the crackers-every now and then. This sudden "BOOMs" will just never let your heart calm down. This is the sole day when the life killing carbon is embraced with open arms.
Well crackers are not the whole story.The way Indian ladies-dressed in traditional attire all together prays to the ultimate god of power- it's just something I can't put in words. You will have to feel it.
and finally there is this "Holy Smoke"- a mixture of all the smokes emanating from the candles and of those from incandescent sticks. They lend the final missing piece of definition to "Diwali"
This aromatic clouds of dust and ash,with never dimming night sky,uncountable heads chanting the same verse and this feeling of mutual joy,that we share and which binds us all-guess, this is what makes diwali- "THE DIWALI"
